Recently I stopped by GraceWorks Ministries to witness their work in action. A few weeks ago our neighborhood raised money and collected toilet paper and food items to support them as they sought to serve the community through a drive-through food pantry and my new friend, Valencia Breckenridge, CEO of GraceWorks, told me, "what you need to be taking pictures of is what we do from Monday-Saturday!"
I was blown away by the system GraceWorks implemented starting March 19. Depending on the size of the family, each grocery cart could hold 100 lbs of food including meat and fresh produce! Due to safety precautions, GraceWorks' regular volunteers had been asked not to come in but the 30 full- and part-time staff were still very active in ensuring the food pantry operation was successful, many of them humbly and joyfully wearing new "hats" during this temporary new normal.
Here's a glimpse of how GraceWorks has been loving the community through this pandemic and to learn more about how you can help, visit: https://www.graceworksministries.net/how-to-help/.
